Fashion Bug

I have been bitten' by the fashion bug! I just discovered an awesome site called www.myshape.com
It is a great website, you have to take all your measurements and then type them into the website, it then suggests what cloths would "flatter" your body style... I created a wish list already! Too Many Nice clothes that I can't resist. :)

1940's Apron

I just think the era between 1940 - early 1960's is just so neat. In fact most of my house has little reminders through out of that era, so when I got my new machine I wanted to create something that was simple and easy so I could get "use to it". Well I came across a book called "Quilts for Rosie - 1940's inspired paper piecing blocks". Inside I found this pattern for a 1940's apron. It was so fun to put together. Even though because I'm so busy 90% of the time it took me almost 4 weeks to finish this project. But it sure turned out pretty.

Batiks - My Fav

I'm head over heels in love with Batiks. I love how nice they are to work with and I love how beautiful and unique each piece of fabric is. So I wanted to share a quilt that I made a while ago that was created entirely out of Batiks. I hope you enjoy. (this quilt is not for sale)

Animals Gone Wild

I created this quilt about 6 months ago and had to show it off. It was created with the new Animal Kingdom fabric that I bought during the winter Shop Hop here in Michigan. I thought the animal expressions were just adorable.

Meet My...

I just wanted to share with everyone my new "toy". I bought this at the end of May, and I just love it. The Sapphire 870 sews nicely. Now I know everyone is thinking why didn't you by a machine with embroidery capabilities? Well.... I just don't use it. My second machine (Babylock) does embroidery and I have never put on the embroidery arm - it still sits in the box. So when I started (2 years ago) to look at another machine, I told myself I just wanted a sewing machine that was "top" of the line before it went into the embroidery world. The Sapphire is just that. It has over 163 stitches that you can manipulate plus a lot of neat touch button "save a step" features, like the automatic cutting feature. With all these features this machine cost a lot(close to 2500.00 dollars) which at that point I really couldn't justify the embroidery version at (4500.00 dollars - which was on sale and the store wanted my other two machines for trade in to give me the price of 4500.00 - WOW machines costs a lot.)
The only down fall - I haven't had enough time to spend with my new machine. I've been busy between stamping, work, home life, garage sale, all my animals, teaching my mother to sew, Father's Day, my husband's birthday, and my Grandmothers 80th birthday. This month has been extremely busy for me.

My First Entry

I was hoping to create a blog for just Stamping, but then I thought about my other passion, Quilting. I love both and I never have enough time for either hobby. So later this weekend stay tuned because I hope to make this a great Blog site. :)

Toodles,
Jenn ;)
